Columbia Gorge Behavioral Health Consortium

Building a Strong Behavioral Health
Workforce for the Future

Our Consortium is a professional development initiative driven by a collaboration of organizations and clinicians from across the Mid-Columbia Gorge region with the aim of developing a “HomeGrown Workforce.”

We support behavioral healthcare providers at all stages of their training and licensed professional development.

    • Higher Education Partnerships: CGBHC connects higher education institutions with local organizations, fostering collaboration and practical training opportunities. Affiliates like Grand Canyon University and Capella University offer our members discounts on tuition and professional development.

    • Guided Training and Supervision: Members gain access to no-cost, community-driven training plans, high-quality clinical supervision, and evidence-based practice (EBP) training, ensuring early career clinicians are well-prepared.

    • Supervisee Support: Early-career clinicians receive comprehensive support, including EBP training, field placements, career opportunities, clinical supervision, and access to shared resources and support networks.

    • Networking Opportunities: We facilitate connections among early licensure clinicians to strengthen social networks and enhance care coordination.

    • Overcoming Barriers: We assist in overcoming challenges related to hiring or hosting interns and unlicensed clinicians.

    • No-Cost Supervisor Training: Free training programs are available for clinical supervisors to enhance their skills.

    • Consultation and Expertise: We establish consultation groups for supervisors to share strategies and leverage local expertise for training and consultation needs.

    • Customized Supervision Plans: Tailored supervision plans are developed to meet the unique needs of clinicians, supported by ongoing continuing education to address service gaps and community needs.

  • The CGBHC is an affiliate of the Columbia Gorge Health Council. We have additional support from Providence Health Foundation. Our local organizational partners include: Mid Columbia Center for Living, The Next Door, Inc, Trillium Family Services, Mid Columbia Community Action Council, Safe Space CAC, Adventist Health Columbia Gorge and more
